Can we deliver our missions differently?
(Weds PM and Thurs PM)

Diane Ragsdale and

Russell Willis Taylor, President and CEO - National Arts Strategies

There is so much talk in the arts at the moment about the need for new 'business models'. What does this mean? What is a business model and how do we make sure that our model is in line with our mission?

What will I gain?

Diane and Russell will share examples of a range of arts business models They will also lead discussions with delegates on the role of marketing within defining the future direction of your organisation.

Developing a culture of creativity and innovation
(Weds PM and Thurs AM)

Mark Wright, Director - People Create Ltd

This session will explore how to develop a state of mind within your team to help the organisation to become more agile, daring and responsive. Join Mark and other experienced arts professionals to discuss how to develop a culture of creativity that will support your team and / or your organisation in its bid to remain vibrant and meaningful in a society where change is rapidly becoming the status quo.

What will I gain?

  • This is an interactive session in which you will work with Mark to gain an insight into how leaders can develop a culture of innovation and creativity across their team.
  • An opportunity to discuss how you might help your organisation to become more courageous, to enable it to try new things, to take risks, to succeed or to fail but recover quickly.
  • The chance to explore with others from across the sector the extent to which arts organisations can take risks, can change and adapt without losing sight of their mission.

This will involve moving from a subsidy mindset to an investment mindset. This panel will explore the MMM framework for developing financial resilient arts organisations and will ask how marketers can contribute to developing this within their own organisations.

What will I gain?

  • An overview of the MMM framework for financial resilience
  • An opportunity to discuss the pros and cons of this approach and how it might be applied across the arts
  • Insight from our speakers and from other delegates around how marketer can best contribute to achieving financial resilience within our organisations
